Another update~

Heissan! Hello!

"raffle ticket"
"thank you"

Again a short update of my life. This month went quickly and not much even happened as I had to rest, but it's okay! At the moment I'm in Taipei, Taiwan however! :D This trip will be its own post again after I have gone back to Sapporo. But I can tell that it sure is beautiful and warm in here!

During this month I managed to go out with my friends couple of times (food pictures for hungry ones, sorry :-P) and there was the lovely SuG concert! I also got motivation to bake, baked blueberry and apple pie. I also spot two Finnish words. Once again I apologize for the bad quality of the pictures (would change this damn phone immediately if I could)!

Tokyo (22.12.2016 - 9.1.2017) #4

Hey!

The next destinations were:

Meiji Shrine, Sumida, Asakusa, Minato, Ikebukuro, Shimokitazawa

Tuesday 3rd:
This day we went to Meiji Shrine for hatsu mode (初詣) in the afternoon. There were lots of people but I heard there could have been even more if we went on 1st or 2nd of January... It was nice to take part in Japanese tradition though.
After the shrine we went to eat to Moomin House Café in Sumida! It was cute and the sweets good. After eating we saw Tokyo Skytree, the tallest tower in the world (& second tallest structure after Burj Khalifa) in evening illumination, then we went back to my friend's place.

Wednesday 4th:
The day started with Asakusa, one of the places I looked forward to the most. But I have to admit, I liked Kamakura better in the end. We walked around for hours and went to sushi, it was so delicious! Unfortunately my phone was messing up so the pictures are not so good...
After sushi we visited Tokyo Tower in Minato-ku and took some photos before heading back and the day was over.

Thursday 5th:
Today it was time for Ikebukuro and Shimokitazawa. Didn't do much, just walked around and visited many shops and bought things. In the evening we watched one Resident Evil movie, as we were going to see the latest one soon.

Friday 6th:
Nothing much happened, only ate in Mikon Finland Café that had Finnish things and food, felt like home and it was great to eat some Finnish food after a long time! :D

Saturday 7th:
We went to see Resident Evil: Final Chapter movie in 4D, it was exciting and funny as we saw it early in the morning. After the movie we went to Round1 to bowl and play darts. In the evening we went to karaoke.

Sunday 8th & Monday 9th:
On Sunday there didn't happen anything, just relaxed and packed for the next morning when it was time to return to Sapporo. It was almost weird to be back home in the snow after almost 3 weeks. But during those weeks I got to see a lot and I'm happy and grateful about it!

Tokyo (22.12.2016 - 9.1.2017) #3

Heya!

This time the places I went included:

Disney Sea, Akihabara, Ginza, Ueno, Ameyoko, Fujiyoshida

Wednesday 28th:
On Tuesday 27th I  literally didn't do anything, I was so exhausted from the previous days I just rested and watched TV and ate well. It was a rainy day as well (one of the two rainy days in total!) so maybe it was good we didn't go anywhere.
But on 28th we went to Disney Sea! I have to honestly say it was my favourite place of all the places we went to, I just loved the athmosphere and the rides! Day was sunny but bit chilly. We woke up early and went there by train. Shortest time we waited for a ride was 45 min and longest 90min, but waiting wasn't bad at all, time went fast actually. I also liked that there was a chance to get a Fast Pass in every 2 hours for free, so for couple of rides we didn't have to line! :)
Sadly while waiting for the last ride (and my favourite one) an eartquake occured and the ride was cancelled... It was the closing time then and we went back home.

Thursday 29th:
Today we went to meet my tutor student in Akihabara! It was so good to see her since September, now I had seen all my 3 tutor students! :-3 First we went to a Maid Café and I have to say that was one weird but unique experience, haha! The girls were so cute and kind but we felt awkward in there, some older men were in the café as well and the girls made them repeat funny stuff after them. The food was good though, photos were not allowed so I don't have. In the end we took group and individual photos though, but I'm not going to share them here, lol.
Next we went to Imperial Palace area, it was pretty. After that we walked in Ginza and illuminated Ueno park and went to Ameyoko (アメ横) before eating dinner in some yakiniku place.

Can see a bit of the Emperor's home
牛タン, cow's tongue

Friday 30th:
Another relaxing day. Did nothing except prepared some New Year's food osechi (おせち). Dinner was homemade sukiyaki (すき焼き).

Saturday 31st:
Morning and afternoon was staying home, in the evening we went to some shrine to ring a bell at midnight and walked to see other shrines. Before going out we watched the year's last sunset. The next day we ate the osechi.

Monday 2nd of January:
We woke up very early to catch a bus to Fuji-Q Highland funpark near Mount Fuji. It was my first time in a funpark during winter and in minus degrees. Luckily the temperature rose to +10 during the day, but when sun went down it became freezing again.
We had to queue a lot but the rides were crazy! One has the Guinness World Record of steepest roller coaster and one had earlier the highest.
